Žirovnica (pronounced [ʒiˈɾoːu̯nitsa]; German: Scheraunitz) is a settlement in northwestern Slovenia, in the Municipality of Žirovnica. It is located in the historic Upper Carniola region, on the southern slope of the Karavanks mountain range, close to the border with Austria.
