Discover Mělník

Mělník (Czech pronunciation: [ˈmɲɛlɲiːk]; German: Melnik) is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 20,000 inhabitants. It lies at the confluence of the Elbe and Vltava rivers, approximately 35 km (22 mi) north of Prague. The town is part of the Prague larger urban zone. The region is part of the most important agricultural areas of the country. The main agricultural produce are fruits, vegetables, potatoes, corn, sugar beet, and wine. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone.
