Lucy Kruger is a musician and performer from South Africa who is now based between Berlin and Amsterdam. She recorded her first solo record the year after completing her Honours Degree in Drama at Rhodes University in 2013. Since then she has recorded and released four solo records with her band, Lucy Kruger &amp; The Lost Boys, as well as four records with her dream noise duo, Medicine Boy. After Medicine Boy signed with London based alternative/noise label - Fuzz Club records - the duo moved to Berlin in order to be able to tour more extensively. Just before relocating in June 2018, Lucy recorded her latest solo album, &lsquo;Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls&rsquo; - a dark and tender collection of slow sinking seagaze songs. &lsquo;Though the album is called Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls, the music feels like lullabies for Nick Drake, as Lucy treads the same deep waters as the singer from the late 60s and early 70s, utilizing her voice and acoustic guitar to delicate effect&mdash;where the volume is performed in a soft tactile caress of fingers on skin or fretboard.&rsquo; - POST-PUNK &lsquo;Digging A Hole is a haunting piece of reduced tenderness, delivered by South African songwriter Lucy Kruger It&rsquo;s a mesmerizing show stopper, almost five minutes of a meditative dreamscape that invites you to sink deeper and deeper into its nocturnal notion with every second.&rsquo; - NBHAP
